Atlanta, GA (September 7, 2021) – This fall, rising superstar designer Ashley Noxolo will be showcasing the brands’ newest shoe collection at New York Fashion Week, sponsored by Noxolo Ent and Black With No Chaser. This will be the 10 year anniversary from the first opportunity to showcase at NYFW in 2011. Noxolo Ent welcomes Black With No Chaser, filling the role of amplifying the success stories in the black community. Ashley Noxolo is Mississippi’s first shoe designer to showcase at New York Fashion Week and also the first to sponsor a shoe line during NYFW for celebrity stylist Stevie Boi’s “CoExist” shade line, making the debut of Ashley Hart Shoe Designs a two part show occasion.
Noxolo is the founder of Ashley Noxolo, a fashion forward brand that specializes in custom apparel and shoes. The passion behind the brand is found through redefining fashion in an individualistic way by catering to a client’s need for originality and expressing one’s personality through style.
“I am a black designer with a company committed to maintaining an individualistic mindset towards fashion” says Noxolo. “I have found growth while in the retail industry as a visual lead which inspired me to explore avenues of fashion outside the repeated styles we see available on so many shelves from so many stores. Being able to express yourself through fashion is an easy task because of the way my company approaches fashion and how we provide ease into executing a dynamic style that can not be duplicated. It was long overdue for a Mississippi stylist to be put on the map and since my introduction to the fashion world in 2011, I decided to pour my time and energy into the path I have created for myself and other black designers from the south.”
As many of our readers know, Black With No Chaser is a Black owned media brand where several departments have been established focusing on news, sports, music and entertainment, health, finance and more. With the rapid growth of the brand, fashion is the next brand extension for the company.
CEO of Black With No Chaser, CJ Lawrence, said, “When the Opportunity presented itself to collaborate with a designer of Ashley’s caliber for New York Fashion Week, We knew we had to be a part of it.” Before her, the most prominent Black Mississippian to make it to fashion week was Vicksburg native the late Patrick Kelly in the 1980s. Making it to New York Fashion week as a designer from Mississippi is no small feat.
In many ways, what Noxolo has been able to do is transcendent. And should be celebrated for the extraordinary feat it is. “Ashley Noxolo is the embodiment of what Black With No Chaser truly stands for. She is Creative, bold, and unapologetic! Our homegirl is a history making Southern Black Queer Woman disrupting the New York fashion space for multi-marginalized communities. “
