According to multiple reports, NBA icon, Kobe Bean Bryant, and his daughter, rising basketball star, Gianna Maria Onore, tragically perished in a helicopter crash.
Kobe Bryant was an NBA legend, who helped steer the NBA onward, post Michael Jordan era. Throughout his career, he was known for his relentless ability to score and his passion for the game, overall. This passion led him to 5 NBA titles, 2 Finals MVP’s, 1 MVP and multiple ALL NBA and All Star appearances.
Coming out of high school, Kobe was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and traded, on draft night, to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played all 20 years of his illustrious career. Post-retirement, Kobe remained active, being an ambassador to the game of basketball (Both domestically and international), winning an Oscar for his outstanding love letter to the game itself, entitled “Dear Basketball” and raising four amazing daughters, one of which, Gianna “GiGi” Maria Onore, tragically died in the crash.
GiGi wanted to be just like her father, pursuing the game of basketball at a high level, and would often accompany him to NBA and WNBA games.
Kobe was 41 and GiGi was 13.
