For about a month now, the entire Atlanta and Metro-Atlanta area has been in a tizzy. Why? Well, in case you’ve been under a rock, Atlanta-native, Omeretta The Great pulled people’s cards and gave everyone a brief yet concise geography lesson that has had the entire city in an uproar with the release of Sorry Not Sorry.
Here at BWNC, we are unapologetic, and Omeretta is equally unapologetic for reminding folks to rep where they’re from. The Great took time and pulled up last week to chop it up with BWNC and discuss the ongoing controversy over who is and is not Atlanta, how’s she’s handling all of the attention, what’s next, and when fans (#OGs) can expect new music.
It’s been a little more than three weeks since Omeretta dawned on them black forces, chose violence, and decided to stir the pot with Sorry Not Sorry. Omeretta has everyone’s attention and has no intentions of slowing up. She’s been at this for years and is finally getting the recognition she deserves as a lyrically talented female emcee, and we love to see this young queen doing her thing. No matter how you feel, Atlanta is Atlanta, and if you’re on the outskirts, then, unfortunately, it’s not Atlanta.
