Trigger Warning. Tragedy struck in Fort Worth when Atatiana Jefferson was sitting at her home playing video games with her 8 year old nephew. When the door to her home appeared to be open a neighbor called the police and an officer appeared at the scene. Atatiana hearing something going on outside her home decided to check to see what was happening outside her home- within 4 seconds she was shot and killed by the police officer. The footage is disturbing and while we are sharing we do so with a warning beforehand.
The video footage was shared via twitter by the Attorney for the family of Botham Jean Civil Rights Attorney Lee Merritt .
Reactions to the tragedy began to pour in as black twitter witnessed and learned of how Atatiana’s life was taken without any true reason. Especially in the wake of the Amber Guyger murder trial and Botham Jean’s death.
As we learn more we will update the Black With No Chaser family. Our heart goes out to the family and friends of our sister Atatiana K. Jefferson and we will continue to fill in the details so that you have an accurate accounting of what has taken place and how we can demand justice for our sister.
