The 4th of July weekend almost went from holiday to tragedy when 3 teenage girls drove their vehicle into a river in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Thankfully, young Corion Evans was nearby when he leaped into action to help them without hesitation. The 16 year old removed his shirt and shoes and swam out about 25 feet to pull them out, even saving 2 of the girls at once.

Evans, a 16 year old high school student, said that when he saw them in danger he didn’t have time to think about what could be in the water or the danger and risk involved in saving others. He just saw people who needed help and decided to try.

His courageous actions saved 4 lives that day including that of a police officer attempting to also rescue the young girls.

We are awaiting confirmation on if there are any ways available to reward or support Corion’s heroism through a gofundme or another means. As soon as that information is available we will be sure to provide it here.

UPDATE: you can support Corion’s Gofundme here.

Corion we salute you for your sacrifice and selflessness! May a lesson in grace, bravery, and compassion be learned by all through your efforts!

The 4 people Corion saved are all safe and recovering.
